The Faculty of Science and Technology, Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya originated from Rajamangala Institute of Technology which separated into nine universities according to the Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya Act of 2005. On 19 January 2006, all institutes of Rajamangala Institute of Technology in the south of Thailand which included Southern Campus Songkhla Province, Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus (Saiyai) in Thung Song District, Faculty of Agriculture (Nakhon Si Thammarat) in Thung Yai District, and Trang Fishery Technology in Sikao District were combined and changed to Rajamangala University of Technology Srivijaya (RMUTSV). On 14 November 2006, the Ministry of Education announced in the ministerial regulations to establish fifteen government offices in RMUTSV.
RMUTSV Nakhon Si Thammarat Campus consists of three campuses as follows:
1. Faculty of Science and Technology
2. Faculty of Agriculture
3. Faculty of Management Technology
There are six departments at the Faculty of Science and Technology

3. Department of General Education
4. Department of Thai Traditional Medicine
